Sonic Youth have introduced an event to rejoice the 30th anniversary of their landmark 1988 album Daydream Nation. “Sonic Youth: 30 Many years of Daydream Country” is a night of films and talks similar to the report. It takes spot at Portland’s Hollywood Theatre on October 20 and will contain excerpts from Lance Bangs’ new live performance movie Daydream Country. The film reveals the band performing the titular album in entire in 2007. Check out the trailer.
In addition to Bangs’ film, the Hollywood Theatre will screen Charles Atlas’ 1989 documentary Put Blood in the New music (about Sonic Youth and the New York sounds scene), and On Rust, which offers early footage of the band doing on Dutch television. The night will also feature a discussion with drummer Steve Shelley, Bangs, and the band’s archivist Aaron Mullan.
